Laundry Room
As you have seen in my previous posts...I put shelves in my laundry room to hold all my laundry baskets.
Well the other side of the laundry room has been neglected. With one standard shelf from our builder there it left a lot to be desired. I have been eyeing some utility cabinets at lowes and home depot for about five years.
When we got our tiny tax return I had to finally do something!! I went to home depot an loaded the cart with the gigantic box the cabinets came in. Then when walking to check out I saw the exact same cabinets put together already and $10 cheaper!!! SCORE!!!
The before picture is EMBARRASSING The laundry room became a catch all! Do not laugh!!.
Installing the one piece cabinet by myself was VERY tricky but I did it. Loooove the storage.
Enjoy my "blueprint". ;--)))
Now to paint my new little shelf..

Prom Night at Bunco
Like I said in my last post ....last minute. The only thing I had that remotely resembled a formal gown was a bridesmaid dress.
My friend did an awesome job decorating for "prom". It was a great night!!!

Pajama Jam Bunco
Of course I wait until about 2 hours before bunco starts to try and find a funny outfit. This particular bunco was a pajama party so who else to call but my sister in law Teresa. I knew she had bought her kids footsie pajamas for Christmas and was just hoping my 16 year old nephews would be big enough for me to squeeze into. My SIL thought the pajamas were 14-16 boys. I thought for sure they would work. Well when my hubby actually brought them home they were only a 10-12 boys!!!
There was no way I was squeezing my big booty into those pjs. Well that was until David and I teamed up to get them on. One inch at a time we zipped and pulled and squashed every inch in those pajamas!!! It took about a half and hour to complete and when we were done it was VERY TIGHT!!! I could not sit. It was hilarious and got the reaction I was looking for but man was it tight!!!!

Old Door=Headboard
My friend recently moved into a brand new townhome!!! Sooo naturally our creative minds jumped into action. I was able to find this old door on a Craigslist type classifieds and we turned it into a headboard!!!
Started with lightly sanding it to clean and remove any debris.
Painted it a seafoam like color. (Think shabby chic).
We distressed it. Hit it with the back end of a hammer, screw drivers and socket wrench to really get the damage we wanted.
Then we glazed it with a Kwail Paint glaze and viola!!! Gorgeous!!!
Can't want to post pics of the whole room!!

Periodic Fever Syndrome
After months and months of random high fevers Dallin was finally successfully diagnosed with Periodic Fever Syndrome. There are many variations of this syndrome some that have a specific genetic component that is now recognized but his type has yet to be identified as genetic. That does not mean it is not genetic just that research has yet to identify it.
David and Dawson both had the same syndrome so we know it is genetic but again there is not enough research. Until I actually did the research I was unaware of the connection between the three.
"This syndrome includes recurrent episodes of fever with aphthous stomatitis (mouth sores) and pharyngitis (sore throat with redness). Occasionally, there also may be exudate (white patches on the tonsils) and enlarged lymph nodes in the neck (adenitis). Episodes of fever start suddenly and last for 3-7 days. Fevers occur routinely every few weeks; often, families know the exact day when an attack will start. Some children have other symptoms like joint pain, abdominal pain, headache, vomiting or diarrhea. Children are completely well between attacks."
Dallin went through months of fevers with no real explanation before being admitted several times to Primary Children's Hospital for help. While the ER was not much of a help they were able to make him comfortable.
Which led me to begin my research. After spending a few hours on the Internet I was able to identify his syndrome. Find a doctor in Salt Lake City that specializes in periodic fever syndrome and ask for her help! Finally a doctor that understood and did not want to just keep masking the problem!!! After in depth blood work and genetic testing tonsillectomy was suggested.
While there is no known reason tonsil removal seems to cure this syndrome in over 90% of cases. The odds were absolutely worth taking especially because this is what cured David and Dawson.
These pictures are all various fever episodes.
